Il s&rsquo;agit du seul syst\u00e8me hauturier \u00e0 base terrestre restant en service car utilis\u00e9 en secours des syst\u00e8mes de positionnement par satellite et notamment du GPS, quoique moins pr\u00e9cis. La version actuelle, le LORAN-C couvre une large partie de l&rsquo;h\u00e9misph\u00e8re Nord.
